The OT wishing to work in Belgium is citizen of a country within the EU
and has obtained the OT degree within a country of the EU.
In this case the General Directory Basic Health Care and Crisis Management,
department Health Professionals of the FOD Health, Food Safety and Environ-
ment will be responsible for theprofessional
recognition of degrees, certificates and other titles of foreign trained OT's.

Following documents need to be sent to above adress:
- a copy of the degree, certificate or other OT title
- a copy of ID
- a CV
- an official proof of good behaviour less than 3 months from the country of
origin
- an official proof of European recognition of OT degree from the country of
origin
- a permission to practice OT in the country of origin
- previous working places/employer
Upon receipt of the complete file of the required documents the General
Directory Basic Health Care and Crisis Management, department Health Care
Professions of the FOD Health, Food Safety and Evironment it takes 4 months
to investigate the file for declaration/recognition for reimbursement of patients
within the national social insurance system (RIZIV). In the future all working
OT’s will be equired to apply for an individual recogniotion.
